Improved performance of selectively oxidized visible VCSELs

Abstract

The improved performance of selectively oxidized visible vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSEL) grown by metallorganic vapor phase epitaxy which employ a single thin offset oxide aperture is reported. The devices exhibits higher single mode and total recent power as compared to other red oxide confined VCSELs. The results of the investigation are presented.
