Abstract
The translations of French Arthurian literature in the North did not generate original Arthurian compositions in Iceland. The late medieval Ectors saga, however, may be considered an Arthurian romance, inasmuch as the author adapted motifs and episodes from Arthurian literature for a plot driven by a knight's search for adventure.
