Abstract

Photons from spontaneous downconversion may be simultaneously entangled in multiple degrees of freedom ("hyperentangled"), enabling new capabilities in quantum communication and metrology. We present one example-remote preparation of entangled polarization/spatial-mode states-and discuss possible applications.
