Hydrogen generation by partial oxidation of propane over TiO2-Al2O3 supports

Abstract

The synthesis of TiO2-Al2O3 mixed oxide and their application as supports for hydrogen generation by propane partial oxidation was studied. The presence of TiO2 enhanced the surface area of the Al2O3 up to 900°C. An optimal loading of TiO2 was necessary to maximize hydrogen generation. Long-term propane partial oxidation showed that the presence of TiO2 resulted in improved hydrogen generation.
