Abstract
The mechanism for the formation of hydrogels via the cell crosslinking method was discussed. Gels used in minimally invasive medical therapies have a shear reversible gelling behavior. The cell density and the number of ligands per polymer chains were found to be critical variables in the formation of the gel structures. The affinity and the strength of the receptor-ligand interactions were investigated by rheological measurements.
