Research output: Contribution to specialist publicationArticle

Abstract

The climate created to preserve paintings on the walls could cause moisture to collect in the walls. Pinpointing the effect on building materials is imperative. The article briefly describes three distinct models-diffusion, convection and absorption - that have been devised to explain moisture effects in buildings. Some methods for measuring the moisture content in buildings are presented. A case study is presented wherein moisture content was determined indirectly.
