Highly alignment tolerant 10 Gb/s links using very large core plastic optical fiber

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate error-free 10Gb/s transmission over the largest core size fiber ever reported. A transverse tolerance of ±30μm is demonstrated for both the VCSEL source and PIN diode receiver.
