Abstract

This article provides a guide for the planning of farm grain drying, handling, and storage systems as a supplement to the information provided in the Midwest Plan Service Grain Drying, Handling and Storage Handbook MWPS-13 (1987). Topics covered include sizing of drying and handling systems based on harvest rate, determining wet holding needs, selecting a dryer or in-bin drying system, conveyors, dryer feeding, automatic controls, and new system layout.
