Abstract

The glaucoma is a serious disease, that affects humans as well as animals, leading to ocular nervous structures degeneration and progressive blindness. There are many events related to the glaucoma's pathophysiology as the intraocular pressure increase, intracellular glutamate high levels and axoplasmic flow decreasing. Drugs recently available associated to the newcomer surgery techniques are suggested to be the most efficient strategy in the glaucoma's control and vision maintenance.
