Gain optimization of Er-doped fibers doped with Er:BaF2 nanoparticles

Abstract

An Er:BaF2 nanoparticle doped silica fiber (EDF) heavily doped with erbium exhibits mitigated quenching effects and possesses a high quantum efficiency (976 nm pumping). Investigations herein suggest the erbium concentration is scalable to 1 wt%.
