Abstract
The Dynamic Data System (DDS) as a new modeling approach has been used to analyze the manufacturing system's performance. Three applications of DDS approach are illustrated including identification and analysis of machine tool system dynamics under actual working conditions, analysis of grinding dynamics, and sheet metal surface characterization. It is shown that the DDS methodology has a potential to better understand the complicated manufacturing systems as compared with the prevailing system analysis techniques.
