Abstract
Zebu cattle, formerly restricted to grazing areas outside the tsetse-fly zone of W Africa, now range as far S as the 9th parallel in the disease-infested Ivorian savanna. In addition to crossbreeding and improved veterinary care, frequent herd movement is a chief strategy for pastoral adaptation.-Author
