Abstract

The article focuses on a research regarding the benefits of the current trend of businesses to monetize the poor. It states that this move of business enterprises will transform subsistence marketplaces to sustainable marketplaces and presents a micro-level view on consumer and marketplace behavior, and small business owners. The research stresses on the role of social enterprises, government and businesses in addressing issues like poverty and sustainable marketplace.
