Abstract

This paper addresses the free vibration of a stepped Euler-Bernoulli beam using dynamic flexibility methods. The characteristic equation of the system is derived, from which the system eigenvalues are found, and a concise expression is given for the system eigenfunctions. Several examples are discussed.
