Abstract
A framework is proposed for using the generalized Kharitonov (GK) theorem due to B. R. Barmish (IEEE Trans. Autom. Control, vol. 34, no. 2, pp. 157-165, Feb. 1989) for the robustly stable design of the automatic voltage regulator (AVR) and power system stabilizer (PSS) of a power system. The GK theorem is used for robust design after the combined synthesis of the AVR and PSS has been carried out.
