Abstract

A study was carried out to demonstrate that finite-size systems that are in the critical regime exhibit data collapse. The system considered in this study may be either an equilibrium system near its critical point or a nonequilibrium system that attains a critical state through fine-tuning or other mechanism for achieving scale invariance. The observations that appear to explain not only the data collapse but the Reynolds number dependence as well were explained.
