Abstract

We report the first observation (103±17 events) of the decay Λ⁺_c → Σ^-π⁺π⁺ and the charge conjugate. A measurement of the relative branching ratio G{cyrillic} (Λ⁺_c → Σ^-π⁺π⁺)/G{cyrillic} (Λ⁺_c → Σ⁺π⁺π⁺π^- = 0.53±0.15 (stat) ± 0.07 (sys) is also presented.
