Abstract

The Fast Inhomogeneous Plane Wave Algorithm for layered media is described to solve buried object problems. The multi-level algorithm has been successfully implemented and the memory and computational complexity are shown to be O(N log N). Comparing the algorithm with the free space counterpart, it is shown that the increase of the computation required for the buried object problems is small. Extension to static capacitance solver as well as to broadband solver for complex structure is also illustrated.
