Experimental six-state quantum cryptography

Abstract

Using polarization-entangled photons, we have implemented the “six-state” quantum cryptography protocol, whereby each photon is measured in one of three bases. The resulting eavesdropper-induced error rate, experimentally investigated for several attacks, is enhanced to 33%.
