Abstract

The phenomenon of decoherence-free subspace (DFS) for two-qubit systems was explored. The entangled polarization-encoded two-qubit states were decohered both collectively and noncollectively. These results characterize the basis-dependent effect of decoherence on the four Bell states. They also characterize the robustness of the DFS state against perturbations in the assumption of collective decoherence.
