The content of virtual reality (VR) comes from many different areas of application, including: education, business and manufacturing, art, visualization, and training. The people creating these applications are helping VR move from a primarily technology based research effort, to one that is exploring the possibilities of what can be done in this emerging medium. These applications of virtual environments in training and education have demonstrated extraordinary potential to deliver training and experiences in more effective and more efficient ways than the traditional routes of simulations and lectures.
