This introduction provides a short discussion of the manuscripts included in this special issue and places them in a larger context. It describes the changing socio-demographic makeup of Canada and the U.S.; provides a brief historical overview of the past studies on ethnicity, race, and leisure; discusses various theoretical frameworks employed to study this topic; and, lastly, proposes potential topics ethnicity and leisure researchers might consider in the future.
