Abstract

Electric-field-mediated assembly of silicon islands coated with charged molecules was discussed. 2-Mercaptoethanesulfonic acid sodium salt or deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was used to provide a charge to the device islands. Results proved that this process can be used to form, charge, release and assemble silicon-based devices on other substrates.
