Abstract

The effect of interphase on the overall elastic moduli of particulate composites is investigated. We represent the interphase between the matrix and spherical inclusions as an inhomogeneous region and consider an idealized model in which the interphase is isotropic and has a Young's modulus varying in the radial direction and a constant Poisson's ratio.
