Edge-Based Finite Elements and Vector ABC's Applied to 3-D Scattering

An edge-based finite element formulation with vectoi absorbing boundary conditions is presented for scattering by composite structures having boundaries satisfying impedance and/or transition conditions. Remarkably accurate results an obtained by placing the mesh a small fraction of a wavelength away from the scatterer.
