Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The paper presents a comprehensive review of the existing literature dealing with the economics of weather modification and delineates concerns which should be incorporated into future economic analyses. This report considers the complex subject area which relates to the economic impacts of planned weather modification. Two rather separate efforts are included. The first focus of this report details those several factors whose inclusion is crucial to credible economic analysis of weather modification. The second is a review and evaluation of many currently existing studies relating to the economic impacts of weather modification. Five types of weather modification are considered: precipitation augmentation, hail suppression, hurricane suppression, fog dispersal, and lightning suppression.
