Abstract

The current work has implemented in DSMC discrete vibrational levels of N2 and the transitions between them as well as the dissociation of nitrogen molecules. The formation of NO from different N2 vibrational excited states is also considered. The models assessed include Equilibrium rate model, Schwartz-Slawsky-Herzfeld (SSH), and the recent Bird's Collisional-Energy Based model. The effect of the model on the flowfield is explored.
