Does occupational licensing increase income inequality?

Abstract

I investigated how occupational licensing affects the wage distribution of Canadian workers between 1998 and 2014. Occupational licensing not only increases inequality across the entire wage distribution but also tends to have a more substantial impact on the pay of females than males.
