Diversity-multiplexing tradeoff for multiaccess channels

Abstract

The performance of communication schemes can be described as a tradeoff between the amount of two important resources in a wireless system. The optimal tradeoff achievable by any scheme provides then a fundamental benchmark with respect to which actual schemes can be judged. In the optimal tradeoff curve for the point-to-point MIMO Rayleigh fading channel was computed. This paper extends the result to the MIMO multiaccess channel.
