Distribution of Hydroperla fugitans (Plecoptera: Perlodidae) with notes on diet

Collection records are compiled and the known distribution for Hydroperla fugitans (Needham and Claassen, 1925) is presented. A 2007 sampling effort in the Lower Mississippi River yielded eight H. fugitans larvae, providing the opportunity to assess the diet of this large river inhabitant, which includes larval Hydropsychidae (Trichopte ra) and Chironomidae (Diptera), as well as Oligochaeta.
