Abstract
Low incubation temperatures favor protoplasmic growth in Euglena whereas high incubation temperatures favor cell division. Maximal growth rate occurs at 25 °-30 °C and maximal accumulation of cellular material occurs at 13.3 °-17 °C. The dry weight of Euglena at 25 °-28.5 °C is less than half of what it is at 13.3-17 °C.
