Abstract

An experimental hay drying building was constructed to accommodate the use of an automatic bale wagon for handling small hay bales. Exposed vertical surfaces of the stacked hay were sealed with large rectangular pressure balloons so that air was forced to flow vertically through the rectangular stack of bales. Hay was dried with forced air using gas heat or solar heat.
