Abstract

As Illinois’ Wildlife Action Plan is implemented, there is a need for a habitat index that reflects improvements and deteriorations in aquatic systems. The main objectiveof this project was to develop a multi-metric habitat index for use in wadeable streams that was rapid to conduct, adjusted for regional differences that exist under natural conditions, and able to detect meaningful changes in a stream over time
