Abstract

This paper presents application of an ℒ 1 adaptive controller to Bolender and Doman's model of an air-breathing hypersonic vehicle. The adaptive control architecture compensates for parametric uncertainties and the unmodeled dynamics. The benefit of ℒ 1 adaptive controller is its ability of fast and robust adaptation with uniformly bounded transient transient response and analytically computable stability margins.
