Description of chemotactic cell migration via optical flow methods

Abstract

The application of optical flow image processing methods in the quantification of cell migration on substrates is reported here. By extracting pixel-based displacement vectors from time-lapse microscopy, this technique allows the accurate and objective analysis of the cell motility process.
