Demystifying FRAD: Functional requirements for authority data

Research output: Book/Report/Conference proceedingBook

Abstract

Authority control is essential for effective retrieval of resources, as it provides consistency in the form of access points used to identify persons, families, corporate bodies, and works. Current authority data lacks the flexibility in description that users expect for electronic and digital resources. Resource Description and Access, or RDA, is a new cataloging code that is based on the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) and the FRAD model, which will help catalog users to easily find all types of resources they need in the digital world.
