CUAHSI hydrologic information systems

Abstract

The development of a hydrologic information systems (HIS) by the Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science (CUAHSI) is discussed. The system is aimed at providing information for the support of the hydrology science throughout the hydrologic community. The system is based on a hydrologic data model integrating data from many water disciplines, as well as many related disciplines such as ecology and solid earth science. The system also provides an innovative platform for asking an entirely new class of hydrologic science questions concerning the holistic functioning of the hydrology cycle.
