Abstract

Comparisons of detonation shock motion measured in experiment, predicted by detonation shock dynamics (DSD-theory) and direct multi-material simulations that use non-ideal, reactive equation of state and rate laws to describe the explosive, are discussed. We show how the diameter effect curve and the extinction radius may be used to describe transient and high shock curvature detonation.
