Correlation of fatigue tests of thick-wall cylinders subjected to repeated internal pressure

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This paper is intended to demonstrate an engineering approach to the field of h igh-pressure fatigue. A further intention is to stimulate thought toward the formation of a correction equation, which may be made by applying a scries of approximate correction factors to a slate-of-strcss equation. It is possible that the fatigue limit or “endurance pressure” of thick-walled cylinders of various wall ratios may be estimated by using such a correction equation.
