Abstract
Currently, the construction industry relies heavily on written reports to document site conditions, which requires good writing skills and unbiased judgements. Due to language ambiguity and the fact that details are usually omitted during writing, it is difficult to reconstruct what actually happened during construction. A prototype field data collection device, named Digital Hardhat is developed to provide multimedia documentation and real-time video conferencing between engineering offices and remote project sites.
