Abstract
Today's corporate philosophy is to constantly replace old products with new versions, either an improved product or a new variation. With increasing market competition, a short product development cycle is crucial as it enables the company to deliver new products to the market quickly. A methodology has been developed that will perform four essential functions, namely, integration of information and constraints; conflict detection and conflict resolution; production plan generation and simulation; and representation of task knowledge as a continuum. This methodology captures the essence of the concurrent engineering approach.
