Abstract

In order to reduce the burden placed on designers of polymeric parts, a system which can aid in process and material selection in the early stages of polymeric part design is currently under development. The system will be referred to as MAPS. MAPS is an acronym for Material And Process Selection. This paper is a progress report on the development of MAPS. It discusses the overall approach, details the progress on the process selection module, and outlines plans for the remaining modules of the system.
