Abstract

The modification of the phase-field models of solidification, which enable computational efficiency in the regime when interface kinetics was dominant factor, was discussed. The modification of the phase-field model allowed the use of interface thickness many times larger than the capillary length. Asymptotic analysis was performed to relate the parameters in phase-field model with the parameters of sharp-interface model. The performance of different phase-field models was compared using one dimensional simulation.
