After working at Harvard University as an NSERC postdoctoral fellow (1998–2001), he worked at University of Rochester between 2001 and 2011 and joined the faculty of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at UIUC as a tenured Full Professor in 2012. Dr. YANG is an Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Canada Doctoral Prize winner and a US National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award recipient. He is an elected Fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
