Abstract
Molecular dynamics simulations was used to study the charge inversion and flow reversal of electro-osmotic transport in a slit silicon nanochannel. The charge inversion is mainly caused by the molecular nature of water and ions. The flow reversal was caused by the immobilization of counterions adsorbed on the channel wall and due to the charge inversion phenomena. The molecular nature of water and ions is found to contribute significantly caused by the immobilization of Na+ ions adsorbed on the channel wall and due to the charge inversion phenomena.
