Characterization and analysis of micro-fluidic VCSELs

Abstract

A parametric study of micro-fluidic photonic crystal vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers is carried out which shows a larger fluid-induced wavelength shift with smaller lattice constant. An effective index model is developed which is consistent with measurements.
