Abstract

It is no surprise to the higher education community that military-connceted students are arriving on campuses across the country. Of the approximate 250,000 service members who leave the military each year, many will turn to higher education for new opportunities and to enhance their employment prospects. Although these students are highly motivated and very capable, their transition to a collete setting can be overwhelming and filled with barriers related to academic preparedness, understanding their school's administrative procedures, fitting in, as well as contending with various physical and conitive disabilities. To support the unique and complex needs of military-connected students, all hands are needed on deck.
