Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is in its infancy, similar to the state of the Internet before the World Wide Web made it an indispensable tool for communication, business and entertainment. A similar revolution is needed for the IoT to become really useful. This paper identifies some important problems with today's IoT involving discovery and control, and proposes some solutions based on a concept we call the Physical Web, an integration of the IoT with Web technologies.
