Abstract

The time-domain adaptive integral method (TD-AIM) was developed to accelerate the solution of surface and volume-surface integral equations (VSIE). The algorithms were combined and a parallel TD-AIM algorithm was used to efficiently solve the resulting hybrid VSIE. The proposed algorithm reduces the computational cost of solving the VSIE. The TD-AIM scheme was expected to be more efficient when treating truly volumetric structures even when both algorithms have similar reduced asymptotic computational complexities.
