Abstract
Breakage resistance of two corn genotypes were investigated by means of breakage susceptibility tests and quasi-static compression tests. Corn samples dried at different air temperatures were used to investigate the effect of drying rates on the breakage strength of corn. As the drying rates increased, the breakage susceptibility increased; the average applied force and compressive energy absorbed at the bio-yield and rupture points for individual kernels decreased.
